Mei loves drumming, but classmates tell her drums are 'for boys' and ribbons are 'for girls.' She hides her drumstick in her cloth bag and feels sad. Her grandmother Po Po shows her old photos of women drummers at the Tin Hau Festival, proving that hands can hold both a drumstick and a ribbon. Mei practises in secret, finds her courage, and performs proudly at the estate's Mid-Autumn gathering, where her friends cheer and she learns to be exactly who she is.
